On board the Dreamcatcher

On board the Dreamcatcher

Victor reports that after leaving Ballast Key on Thursday, the Dreamcatcher went around the Marquesas Key and anchored last night off the SE corner.

Today they motored in closer and fished in the channel catching snapper (for dinner tonight), barracuda, and tarpon.

Charlie and Victor were planning on taking a float this afternoon in the long boat with jigs and bait to try for jack and snapper. Victor said his braid line is a nightmare, and I’m sure he’ll elaborate more when he gets ashore and internet connected.

An interesting note: The Key West National Wildlife Refuge was once used by the US Navy as bombing practice. Victor was out in the water today free-diving down to one of the wrecks.

Tonight the guys are back at Boca Grande ready to make the final push into Key West tomorrow.
